Grate: These bacon bits really are very simple to make. Just press and then shred extra firm tofu using a box grater or the grating attachment on your food processor.

Marinate: This step is what gives these bacon bits all their flavor. Mix together all the marinade ingredients and stir in the tofu. Let it sit and mingle for about a half hour so the tofu has a chance to soak up all the delicious flavor.

Bake, Fry, Air Fry: All that’s left is to bake, fry, or air fry. Each method makes tasty bits. To bake, spread out the marinated tofu on a parchment-lined cooking sheet. Spritz with a bit of oil, and bake at 425F for about a half hour until the bits are starting to get crispy. In the air fryer, spread out the marinated tofu on a parchment-lined air fryer tray. Spritz with a bit of oil, and air fry at 400F for about 13 minutes. Or, pan fry over medium heat in a large skillet. Use a bit of oil and fry for a few minutes, stirring often, until the bits are crisp.
