  • 1 15 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup finely diced onions
  • 2 tsp finely minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbsp dried basil or 3 tbsp fresh
  • 2 tsp dried oregano or 2 tbsp fresh
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp pepper or to taste
  • 3 pkts stevia to taste, optional
  • 3 tbsp sweetener sugar or agave, etc, optional
  • 1 8 oz box dried spaghetti noodles


  1. Prepare the garbanzo bean burgers according to the recipe at https://www.planted365.com/2019/01/22/banzo-burgers/ and set them aside.

  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, simmer the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, onions, garlic, nutritional yeast, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and any sweetener if you choose to add any, for about 40 minutes. 

  3. Cook the noodles according to the package directions and drain well. 

  4. Serve the marinara sauce over the spaghetti noodles and add two halves of a garbanzo burger on the side.
