Ingredients

  • 16 oz vegan cream cheese I used Daiya brand at room temperature
  • 8 oz vegan cheddar cheese shreds Also Daiya
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/8 to 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup dried chives
  • 1/2 cup Bac-o-Bits
  • thin pretzels to make edible skewers

Instructions

  1. Allow cream cheese to soften to room temperature.

  2. In a large bowl, stir together the room temperature cream cheese, cheddar cheese shreds, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes until well incorporated.

  3. Place the bowl of mixed cheeses into the fridge for about a half-hour to firm..

  4. Use a spoon or scoop to make uniform balls. Form with hands when needed.

  5. In a smaller bowl, stir together the chopped pecans, chive, and Bac-o-bits. Roll the cheese calls in this mixture until thoroughly coated.

  6. Use a thin pretzel as a skew at the top of each cheese ball.

  7. Store in the fridge until ready to serve.
