Vegan Caramel Sauce is Easy!
It turns out thick, creamy, and tasty. Just start with some plant-based milk, brown sugar, and vegan butter (try using THIS homemade vegan butter!). It’s so simple! Add a pinch of salt if you like a more salted caramel flavor.
Then let it bubble over medium-high heat for 5 minutes for sauce and 1 to 3 minutes if you’d like it thicker.
Use over fruit or oatmeal, in vegan yogurt, or on your favorite cake!
Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to a few days.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup plant-based milk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup vegan butter or refined coconut oil
- pinch salt optional
Instructions

Place all ingredients in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.

Heat over medium-high heat until bubbling.

Stir frequently for 5 minutes. The consistency of the caramel will change and get thicker.

For a pourable sauce, remove from heat after 5 minutes of boiling. For a firmer sauce, let cook for 1 to 2 minutes more.

Store in the refrigerator for up to a few days. If it thickens too much for your liking, just thin it with a little plant-based milk or water.
