Even more than food, or at least as much … I love books. It’s the one thing I’m genuinely acquisitive about. If acquisitor means hoarder. I have hundreds of books and am a genre floozy. I’ll read anything. When I was a kid I wanted to grow up and live in a library. Presents? Give me a book (and a few art supplies … and food. Get food, too). One of the coolest things about being a cookbook author is seeing my first book in libraries and bookstores.

I have bookcases all over my house full of all kinds of books but the “special books” bookcase, the one that holds the very best ones that are dearest to my heart and would be what I grabbed in case of a house fire right after the family photos box, is heavily tilted in favor of vegan themed and plant-based books.
Life is short and there are so many books and while I have a big, huge, long, and varied list of them to read this year on all sorts of subjects, I’m going to limit this post to vegan and plant-based reads.
Cookbooks
This list encompasses the new, newish, and downright classics. It’s not in any way exhaustive and I can happily report there are scads of vegan books out there now and I didn’t even come close to listing my own favorites much less everything.

What are your must-reads?

Hello! I’m Lisa, a vegan artist, photographer, author, Vegan Life Coach Educator, and RYT 200 yoga teacher. I love showing others how simple and delicious a plant-based diet can be. I draw and paint, cook, write, take lots of pics, eat lots of chocolate, and practice gratitude daily.
Why are some of the books lined/marked out. Did you decide those were not as good as you hoped?
Hi Su, thanks for pointing that out. It’s expired links. I need to update them!
