Turmeric Spice Almond Milk is easy to make in a Nutr machine
I made this in a new machine I found that easily creates homemade milks from any nuts, including almond, cashew, and macadamias. Nutr also quickly makes tasty kinds of milk from rice, hemp, soy, flax, and oats, as well as others. Here’s a short video. It’s short because it only takes a few minutes to make a delicious, warm drink in this machine.

The Nutr Machine Makes Great Plant-Based Milks
I enjoyed this machine way more than I even expected to. When Nutr asked if they could send me one to try out I expected to think it was a good machine, but this exceeded expectations. It’s made primarily of heavy, machined stainless steel and has the heft and weight of a well-made thing. The accessories, like measuring spoons and a strainer, are of the same quality and really lovely stainless.
What Does a Nutr Do??
A Nutr machine mixes water and nuts and, using blades, grinds the nuts or seeds up to make nut milk. It will also heat the drink to anything from room temperature to boiling.
How Big is a Nutr?
The Nutr machine is not all that large and doesn’t take up much counter space. Nutr only makes one serving at a time, which can be either a normal amount or a bit larger … from about 8 to 12 ounces. It’s really easy to clean, too.
What Kinds of Milk Can You Make in a Nutr?
You can make any sort of milk you like in the Nutr. Any nuts or seeds will work. So will oats. When you make it yourself there are no weird ingredients, just water and nuts. Of course, you can add all sorts of ingredients to make tasty unique drinks. I wanted something with turmeric in it so I made a kind of sweet and spicy turmeric milk with almonds.

Healthy Ingredients in Turmeric Spice Almond Milk
The first drink I made with this new machine is Turmeric Spice Almond Milk. It’s so warming and tasty. It’s become the beverage I have nearly every morning. I’m not a coffee drinker, but I think this would make a great substitute.
Turmeric: A warm, spicy root, turmeric is famous for being a powerful anti-inflammatory. It can be found as a fresh root or dried powder.
Carrot Juice: I added carrot juice for the color and a bit more sweetness. You can find bottled carrot juice in most groceries or make your own.
Almonds: I used a couple tablespoons of blanched almonds here. Blanching instructions are below.
Cinnamon and Ginger: These are both warm and sweet spices that are also powerful antioxidants.
Cayenne: Add a pinch for some heat.
Maple Syrup: Just a tablespoon makes this nice and sweet.
Stevia (optional): If you’re like me and love sweet things, you can add a bit extra using stevia to taste.
How to Blanch Almonds
It’s quick and simple to blanch almonds. It’s just heating them enough so that the skin is easy to remove. To do this, start with unroasted almonds. Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Add the unroasted almonds to the boiling water for about 2 minutes. Strain them and immediately plunge them into cold water. Then simply rub the skins off, which should be easy.
Cleaning the Nutr
The Nutr is easy to clean if you get to it right away, by simply rinsing it out. There is also a cleaning mode on the machine that will run it through a cleaning cycle. It’s very easy to keep clean!
