Kitchen Sink Smoothie Vegan Plant-Based Recipe

Mmm, kitchen sink smoothie … it’s so much better than it sounds! I love making big, sweet, hearty green smoothies in the morning. I’m pretty sure I put just about everything I had in it, hence the name “(everything but the) Kitchen Sink Smoothie!”

The kale and other greens are fantastic for Vitamin K as well as calcium.

Health Benefits of Kale

  • High in protein, vitamins K, C, & A, calcium, iron, antioxidants, and fiber.
  • Low calorie.
  • Good for digestion. It’s all that fiber!
  • Great for skin and bone health! The vitamin K and calcium work together.
  • Anti-inflammatory. Just one cup of kale has 10% of the DV for omega-3s.
  • Kale’s vitamin A can help lower the risk of some cancers, including lung and oral.
  • The vitamin C in kale helps reduce bruising and strengthens the immune system.
  • Free of cholesterol and saturated fats.
  • It’s delicious!

The hemp seeds and hemp protein, along with a little tofu, knock this up to around 20 gr protein.
My first blender was small and weak, poor thing (but it lasted forever), so I blended my greens first. (I finally got a VitaMix and it was worth every penny.) If you don’t have a VitaMix or other high powered blender, this might work better for you, too. They get pretty smooth processed for a minute or two before adding the rest of the ingredients.

I also used Manitoba Harvest Hemp Pro 50, 50% Protein Powder, 32-Ounce which is my favorite hemp powder. Manitoba Harvest leaves all the good omega-3s intact.

Just blend everything well until smooth and serve.

It is amazing to think that so many people in different parts of the world would want exactly the same thing!! I got up this morning unable to stay in bed cause I was sick of my procrastination! I want to eat raw and yet I sabotage myself at every turn. I had decided that as of Jan first I would take it one step at a time. I would do a month of raw and then set another month etc. I actually love my food raw but seem to avoid it!! So I will look forward to your weekly meal planner as an aid to my journey. What makes it even better is that it will tie in with my aim to budget
Thank you so much.

I just wanted to say that I love your blog!
I found it this week when searching for raw meals for a week and found your website so incredibly helpful.
I've been raw before but moved and had to get rid of all of my fancy appliances – so now I'm starting from scratch again and a like that a lot of your meals do not need the use of a blender/food processor or dehydrator like most all raw meals tend to!
Also your daily dedication to the site is commendable!
Keep up the amazing work!
