This creamy and tasty sauce is like the “real” thing you may have had in a restaurant but it’s totally plant-based. It has every bit as much yummy flavor, though!

Ingredients in Vegan Yum Yum Sauce

Vegan Mayo: There are more than a few vegan mayo brands available now. We tend to use Hellman’s Vegan Mayonaise simply because it’s readily available.

Melted Butter: Just a tablespoon, but it’s a delicious addition.

Sesame Oil: Just a teaspoon for another subtle layer of flavor.

Rice Vinegar: Rice vinegar adds a touch of acidity to the sauce.

Ketchup: Just a bit for a tomato-y touch.

Sweet Paprika: Definitely use the sweet paprika for this sauce.

Garlic Powder: Adds tasty garlic flavor.

Sugar: The sweetness of the sugar balances out all the other flavors.

Salt and Pepper to Taste: It’s a tasty thing. Add as much salt and pepper as you like, tasting as you go along until it’s just right. For you.

Optional Sriracha: Sriracha is always an option, right? If you want a little more spice here, just add a touch of sriracha.

Optional Red Pepper Flakes: Another way to up the spiciness, if desired, is to add a pinch of red pepper flakes.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vegan mayo
  • 1 tablespoon plant-based butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tespoon rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • sriracha and/or red pepper flakes, to taste

Instructions

  1. Stir all the ingredients together until creamy and well combined.
  2. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to five days.
