Allie’s Super Simple Delicious Banana Oat Bites
Banana Oat Bites are so tasty and oh so easy to make. They’re a bargain, too, coming in at less than $2.00 for the entire batch.
I’m not sure if it’s fair to call this a recipe. It’s so ridiculously simple … more of a suggestion. Eleven year old Allie came up with these on a relaxed weekend morning, so they’re her recipe (or suggestion).
Tip: If you have more ripe bananas than you can use even in this recipe, or if you find a bunch on sale and want to put them to good use, simply peel them and put them in the freezer. I like to freeze them whole on a tray and then store them in air tight bags. They’re perfect for any smoothie and you can make any flavor of n’ice cream with them, too!
Allie's Super Simple Banana Oat Bites
- 1 cup mashed ripe banana
- 1 cup uncooked oats
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
In a medium bowl, mash the ripe banana then stir in the oats a stiff dough forms.
Shape into 1" balls and place on a glass plate.
Microwave bites for 1 minute, until firm.
Melt peanut butter in microwave for 45 seconds.
Serve with melted peanut butter drizzled over the top (equal parts maple syrup and peanut butter mixed together is good, too!).
She even shared with her brother!
