Smoothie packs, made ahead, can save you time in the kitchen and money at the store. It’s a great way to put on sale produce away for future use. It’s an easy and affordable way to get lots of delicious nutrition.
Last night at the grocery store, I was admiring the expanded selection of vegan and gluten free items in the freezer section. More vegan goodies, yay! I also noticed they had prepackaged, frozen smoothie ingredients for anywhere from $4 to $6 for a small serving. Wha … ??
Seriously, smoothie packs are SO easy to make and cost anywhere from less than a dollar to no more than $2 if you make them yourself. If you find produce on sale, it’s easy to freeze a bunch. They’ll keep for several weeks in the freezer. When you’re ready to make your smoothie, just empty the baggie of frozen goodies into your blender, add water, juice, or plant based milk, and blend.
These are two of my favorites below. Both are fruity and sweet and they look beautiful! Garnish with a little bit of fruit.
